I am pleased to see the success of the Singapore Clock & Watch Trade Association's web site. Enquiries have been made from places which would not have been possible without the Internet.

Singapore has a thriving clock & watch trade. Total trade is now valued at close to a staggering S$3 billion annually. Over the years, we have established ourselves as an important regional centre for the trade. Apart from this, tourists also account for a significant portion of our business. We have achieved this because of our ability to offer a wide selection of products at competitive prices.

The internet is rapidly evolving into a rich source of information and an important means of communication. Through the Internet, some of our members have been able to complement the use of the traditional media such as newspapers and television to communicate with the public at large and also to the whole wide world in general. Our web site have also made it easier for consumers and suppliers to contact association members.

As a forward-looking industry, the clock and watch business is always exploring new technology and applying it where appropriate. Well done to those who have embraced the new technology.
